See you at the 2015 Faculty Institute!

We invite you to submit a proposal to present at the 2015 Faculty Institute to be held November 5, 2015, at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. You can find the proposal outline here

During the institute, two sets of three concurrent breakout sessions will explore how civic engagement improves student learning while addressing critical issues in Washington. You are required to focus your proposal on one of the following three areas:

  • Track 1) Diversity and Social Justice: Fostering a culture of excellence grounded in equity and diversity.

  • Track 2) Sustainability: Creating secure livelihoods through better human and ecological health.

  • Track 3) Economic Development (Social Entrepreneurship): Pursuing innovative, transformative solutions to strengthen our economy.

Sessions will be two hours long, must incorporate diverse perspectives, and 50% of the session must include active learning strategies (pdf). Presenters are required to identify one to three pre-session materials to help participants prepare for the session. We are also seeking engaging keynote speakers for the 2015 Faculty Institute. If you know an exceptional speaker in our region who can articulate the intersectionality of two or more tracks, please click here to send us your recommendations.
