The Faculty Institute & Annual Network Meeting will be held December 1-2, 2014 at the Everett Community College Henry M. Jackson Conference Center.  Washington Campus Compact invites you to participate in two key meetings that will explore the impact higher education can have on six critical issue areas in our state today: education, sustainability, health and safety, diversity and social justice, economic development, and global leadership. This event will convene civic engagement and service-learning practitioners and partners from throughout the Washington Campus Compact network. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in professional development opportunities, network with colleagues, and share and exchange campus and community-based resources.

Monday December 1st: Faculty Institute

"Integrating Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice into the Curriculum"
Participants will gain an awareness of their personal identity lens, the value of inclusive excellence in the academy, and the knowledge and skills required to transform their curriculum.
Morning Focus: Exploring Personal Identity Lens and Curriculum Transformation
Afternoon Focus: Showcasing Social Justice Models and Discussing Diversity in Teaching and Learning

Tuesday December 2nd: Annual Network Meeting 

"Effectively Communicating the Value and Impacts of Student Engagement
and Leveraging/Generating Resources to Support Student Engagement on Your Campus"

Campus teams comprised of communication/public relations, development/advancement, and service-learning/student engagement representatives will network with other campus teams on effective strategies to communicate how student engagement strengthens communities and improves student success. The teams will also explore strategies on how to leverage internal resources and generate external funding partnerships that support student engagement and service-learning initiatives.

Afternoon Focus: Designing Strategies to Fund and Sustain Student Engagement Initiatives
