Student Civic Leadership Awards

The Student Civic Leadership Awards recognize outstanding student leaders at Washington Campus Coalition member campuses for their work in civic engagement and social entrepreneurship.

2024 Student Civic Leadership Awards

The 2024 awards program has been launched and all member campuses should have received a notification, toolkit and link to the selection form. Need the toolkit and link to the selection form? Email Jenny Spurgin. Member campuses may still submit names up until March 15th.

2024 Awards Ceremony - Students & Guests

The 2024 Student Civic Leadership Awards ceremony will be held on April 19. 2024 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. The event runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm but you may attend only the awards ceremony if you wish.

Student Agenda:

  • 10:00 am - Student Program (for student recipients, guests and campus representatives)

  • 11:30 am - BREAK (explore the Museum of Flight!)

  • 12:00 pm - Lunch

  • 1:00 pm - Awards Ceremony

2024 Awards Ceremony - Presidents & Chancellors

The 2024 Student Civic Leadership Awards ceremony will be held on April 19. 2024 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle and will include our annual Presidents & Chancellors dialogue and lunch before the awards presentation.

Member Presidents & Chancellors

  • 9:45 am - Presidents & Chancellors Dialogue (note that this is only open to presidents and chancellors but it is open to non-WACC members)

  • 12:00 pm - Lunch

  • 1:00 pm - Awards Ceremony

About the Awards

Eligible Students

All students enrolled in Washington Campus Coalition’s member institutions are eligible, so long as they are doing civic engagement work or social entrepreneurship. Both graduate and undergraduate students may be nominated. 

President’s & Chancellor’s Student Civic Leadership Awards

Washington Campus Coalition member campuses select up to two students to receive this recognition for their institution.

Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Awards

Winners from member campuses will be advanced for consideration for the Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award. One student from each institution type will be selected to receive the Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award.

Financial awards include:

  • $500 stipend to each runner up for the Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award

  • $1000 stipend to each winner of the Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award

If your student is selected as a Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award winner, you will be asked to create a 3-4 minute video showcasing the student and their work for the awards ceremony.

2023 Awards

The 2023 Student Civic Leadership Awards were given out in April 2023.
