What is the College Access Challenge Grant (CACG)?
CACG is funded and administered by the Washington State Achievement Council (formerly the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB)). Washington Campus Compact (WACC), in partnership with Washington Campus Compact member institutions, develop statewide strategies to improve college access and success of low-income, first-generation, and minority students.
CACG Program Objectives:
- To increase low-income, first-generation, and minority students’ and their families’ interest and understanding of postsecondary education benefits and opportunities.
- To support low-income, first-generation, and minority middle and high school student campus-based youth mentoring programs.
- To increase and strengthen colleges’ and universities’ partnerships with local middle and high schools.
- To build a statewide network of higher education institutions dedicated and able to increase and strengthen college access and success initiatives targeted for low-income, first-generation, and minority students.
