Concurrent Session Logistics

Session Length: Each session is scheduled for 90 minutes.

Session Schedule: Click on the “Schedule” tab to view the conference schedule. The schedule of individual sessions can be viewed by clicking on each concurrent session link. For example, to view the list of sessions for Concurrent Session 1, click on the “Concurrent Session 1” link.

Session Location: Room assignments for each session will be listed in the Continuums of Service program, which will be available on-site at the conference. Each room will be set up theater style, accommodating 50 to 200 participants depending on the room.

Session Structure: In order to foster an atmosphere of shared knowledge, your session should include no more than 50% presentation/lecture. At least 50% of your session must include active learning components such as facilitated discussion, role playing, demonstration, group inquiry, and simulations.

Session Evaluation: A room monitor will be assigned to each session to facilitate the evaluation process. As a presenter, you should plan to allow 5 to 10 minutes at the end of your session for participants to provide written feedback via the evaluation form. Washington Campus Compact staff will share evaluation results with each lead presenter as soon as possible following the conference.

AV Equipment: A complimentary flipchart will be available in each session room. You are welcome to bring your own AV equipment such as laptop, LCD, DVD player, etc. The deadline for requesting AV equipment from the hotel has passed (Thursday, February 28, 2008) and there is no guarantee that AV requests submitted after this date will be met.

Additional Leadership Opportunities: We are looking for seasoned conference presenters to help facilitate presenter discussions leading up to the conference. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact RaeLyn Axlund at raelyn.axlund@wwu.edu. We are also looking for mentors to work with new conference participants.
