VISTA Volunteers in Service to America

Engaging Students in Their Communities

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national program in which volunteers apply their skills by designing sustainable anti-poverty programs in low-income communities. The members of the WACC VISTA Project engage in one year of full-time service at institutions of higher education in a wide variety of communities throughout the state. The project aims to address poverty issues by increasing curricular and co-curricular service-learning and civic engagement among students, staff, and faculty.
