Services We Provide
Washington Campus Compact provides the following
services to its members:
1. WACC implements key
annual events.
2. WACC implements additional
forums to foster and enhance service-learning
and civic engagement in Washington state.
3. WACC provides training
for AmeriCorps members and technical assistance
for campus constituents involved in, and comprehensive
administration of, WACC-sponsored programs.
4. WACC compiles and
disseminates various publications
to strengthen the field of civic engagement.
5. WACC communicates with
members about WACC activities.
1. WACC implements
key annual events.
Regional Continuums of
Service (COS) Service-Learning Conference
WACC develops andin partnership with the
California, Hawaii, and Oregon Campus Compactspresents
an annual service-learning conference each
spring.
This conferenceto be held for the
eighth time in April 2005has become
a national model for professional development
among service-learning practitioners including
faculty, administrators, students, and community
partners.
The conference provides practitioners opportunities
to publicly present their work and network
with service-learning professionals from throughout
the Campus Compact western region. Members
attend the conference at a reduced rate.
Members' Meeting
Each fall, WACC hosts an annual membership
meeting to which member presidents are
invited
to send campus representatives. The meeting
provides professional development, networking
opportunities, information sharing and exchange,
and opportunities to offer input regarding
the future direction of WACC and the services
it offers.
Summer Institutes
WACC offers summer institutes for member institutions.
These events offer constituent groups training
in desired areas of focus. Previous institutes
have highlighted Service-Learning Course Construction
and the Assessment of Service-Learning and
Civic Engagement.
WACC has used grant funds to offset member attendees
registration expenses. Attendees from WACC-member
community colleges have also received institute
scholarships from the Community College National
Center for Civic Engagement.
Executive Board Meeting
The WACC executive board
convenes annually to conduct necessary board
business. Board members use structured conference
calls to continue their work as needed throughout
the year. The board is responsible for the
general direction and oversight of the organization.

Dialogue for
Democracy
Diverse teams from WACC member institutions
(presidents, student leaders, etc.) will convene
in Seattle on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in a statewide dialogue about K-20 civic engagement. Learn more here.
Presidents' Meeting
The WACC executive board will host an all-presidents
meeting in Seattle on November 13, 2007. All
WACC Member presidents are invited.

- Bimonthly presidential email updates on
statewide WACC activities
- Semi-monthly email updates to key campus
constituents

a quarterly e-newsletter to a wide
audience of stakeholders, including community
partners
