Washington and Idaho Congressional District Information

 

Below, you'll find information regarding WACC member participation in national service programs in Washington and Idaho's combined eleven Congressional Districts.

1st Congressional District

Washington Campus Compact members in the 1st Congressional District are:

                  Cascadia Community College

                  Edmonds Community College

                  Lake Washington Technical College

                  Shoreline Community College

                  University of Washington, Bothell

 

Learn and Serve: Cascadia Community College and Edmonds Community College participate in the Learn and Serve America program. Learn more here.

 

Students in Service: Cascadia Community College, Edmonds Community College, and the University of Washington, Bothell are all active participants in the Students in Service program. During the past year, the impact of the program in the 1st Congressional District was:

Cascadia Community College: 5 students; $9,088 in scholarships; 3,300 service hours; $61,941 in value to the community

Edmonds Community College: 48 students; $77,250 in scholarships; 27,600 service hours; $518,052 in value to the community

University of Washington, Bothell: 6 students; $7,363 in scholarships; 2,400 service hours; $45,048 in value to the community

TOTAL: 59 students, $93,701 in scholarships; 33,300 service hours; over $625,000 in value to the community

 

WACC Retention Project: Cascadia Community College, Edmonds Community College, Lake Washington College, and the University of Washington host AmeriCorps members through this program. Each AmeriCorps member provides over $36,000 worth of value to the community.

 

WACC welcomed Shoreline Community College as a new member in 2007-2008 and looks forward to coordinating national service programs with them soon.

 

2nd Congressional District

Washington Campus Compact members in the 2nd Congressional District are:

Everett Community College

Northwest Indian College

Skagit Valley College

Western Washington University

 

Learn and Serve: Everett Community College participates in the Learn and Serve America program. Learn more here.

 

Students in Service: Everett Community College, Skagit Valley College, and the of Western Washington University are all active participants in the Students in Service program. During the past year, the impact of the program in the 2nd Congressional District was:

Everett Community College: 21 students; $36,488 in scholarships; 13,200 service hours; $247,764 in value to the community

Skagit Community College: 7 students; $11,587 in scholarships; 4,200 service hours; $78,834 in value to the community

Western Washington University: 44 students; $79,450 in scholarships; 29,250 service hours; $549,023 in value to the community

TOTAL: 87 students, $127,525 in scholarships; 46,650 service hours; over $875,000 in value to the community

 

WACC Retention Project: Northwest Indian College and the Western Washington University host AmeriCorps member through this program. Each AmeriCorps member provides over $36,000 worth of value to the community.

 

3rd Congressional District

Washington Campus Compact members in the 3rd Congressional District are:

                  Clark College

                  The Evergreen State College

                  Washington State University, Vancouver

 

Learn and Serve: Clark College will participate in the Learn and Serve America program. Learn more here.

 

Students in Service: Clark College, The Evergreen State College, and Washington State University, Vancouver are all active participants in the Students in Service program. During the past year, the impact of the program in the 3rd Congressional District was:

Clark College: 18 students; $18,000 in scholarships; 5,400 service hours; $101,358 in value to the community

The Evergreen State College: 27 students; $43,288 in scholarships; 15,450 service hours; $289,997 in value to the community

Washington State University, Vancouver: 5 students; $6,363 in scholarships; 1,300 service hours; $24,401 in value to the community

TOTAL: 50 students, $48,764 in scholarships; 22,150 service hours; over $415,000 in value to the community

 

WACC Retention Project: The Evergreen State College hosts an AmeriCorps member through this program. Each AmeriCorps member provides over $36,000 worth of value to the community.

 

4th Congressional District

Washington Campus Compact members in the 4th Congressional District are:

                  Big Bend Community College

                  Central Washington University

                  Heritage University

                  Wenatchee Valley College

 

Students in Service: Central Washington University and Heritage University are active participants in the Students in Service program. During the past year, the impact of the program in the 4th Congressional District was:

Central Washington University: 18 students; $18,000 in scholarships; 5,400 service hours; $101,358 in value to the community

Heritage University: 48 students; $77,250 in scholarships; 27,600 service hours; $518,052 in value to the community

Eastern Washington University: 97 students; $149,350 in scholarships; 53,550 service hours; $1,005,134 in value to the community

Gonzaga University: 45 students; $74,638 in scholarships; 27,150 service hours; $509,606 in value to the community

Spokane Community College: 119 students; $185,000 in scholarships; 66,750 service hours; $1,252,898 in value to the community

Spokane Falls Community College: 5 students; $6,363 in scholarships; 1,300 service hours; $24,401 in value to the community

Washington State University: 13 students; $21,175 in scholarships; 7,500 service hours; $140,775 in value to the community

TOTAL: 279 students, $436,805 in scholarships; 156,250 service hours; over $2.9m in value to the community

Grays Harbor College: 15 students; $23,063 in scholarships; 8,250 service hours; $154,853 in value to the community

Tacoma Community College: 41 students; $64,438 in scholarships; 23,100 service hours; $433,587 in value to the community

University of Washington, Tacoma: 19 students; $26,700 in scholarships; 9,050 service hours; $169,869 in value to the community

TOTAL: 75 students, $114,201 in scholarships; 40,400 service hours; over $758,000 in value to the community

 

WACC Retention Project: Tacoma Community College and University of Washington, Tacoma host AmeriCorps members through this program. Each AmeriCorps member provides over $36,000 worth of value to the community.

 

WACC welcomed Olympic College as a new member in 2007.

 

7th Congressional District

During the past year, the impact of the program in the 7th Congressional District was:

Antioch University Seattle: 27 students; $53,275 in scholarships; 19,950 service hours; $374,462 in value to the community

Seattle Central Community College: 6 students; $11,700 in scholarships; 4,350 service hours; $81,650 in value to the community

Seattle Pacific University: 10 students; $14,588 in scholarships; 5,100 service hours; $95,727 in value to the community

Seattle University: 16 students; $18,863 in scholarships; 6,300 service hours; $118,251 in value to the community

University of Washington: 126 students; $192,262 in scholarships; 69,300 service hours; $1,300,761 in value to the community

TOTAL: 185 students, $290,688 in scholarships; 105,000 service hours; over $1.9m in value to the community

 

WACC VISTA Project: Antioch University Seattle, and the University of Washington are hosting AmeriCorps VISTA members through this program.

 

8th Congressional District

Washington Campus Compact members in the 8th Congressional District are:

                  Bellevue Community College

 

Students in Service: Bellevue Community College participants in the Students in Service program. During the past year, the impact of the program in the 8th Congressional District was:

Bellevue Community College: 19 students; $20,362 in scholarships; 6,300 service hours; $118,251 in value to the community
